Every funeral is a personal choice, we arrange each funeral to meet today’s requests built on the traditions we have offered over many years.

Here are some suggestions and cost indicators to assist in your decision making.

Included below is the Standardised Price List as required by the CMA.

Non-attended funeral

For families who choose not to have a service or may not wish to attend a funeral, this is a very simple, low cost arrangement.

What’s included:

  • Professional services
  • A meeting in our office to arrange all necessary documentation including advice on registration
  • Liaising with hospital, doctor or coroner as necessary.
  • Collection of deceased within a 20mile radius of our office during normal working hours Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, should it be necessary outside of these times it will incur an addition of £200.00.
  • Care of deceased until time of cremation
  • Simple wood effect coffin suitable for cremation including name plate.
  • Transfer of deceased in a suitable vehicle (may not be a hearse) to West Suffolk Crematorium at a time and date arranged by us.
  • Return of cremated remains to our office in a crematorium container ready for collection by the person arranging the funeral.

The non-attended cremation service costs £1100.00 including disbursements.

This arrangement may only suit those who prefer a non-attended funeral, however we can discuss any alterations you may require, such as dressing in own clothes.

Whilst this is a low cost arrangement our normal high level of care will always be paramount.

Traditional funeral

What’s included:

  • Professional services including personal attention to all necessary arrangements at a meeting in our office.
  • Advice on registration and coroner procedures.
  • Liaising with hospital, doctor or coroner as necessary.
  • Collection of deceased within a 20mile radius of our office during normal working hours Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, should it be necessary outside of these times it will incur an addition of £200.00.
  • Care of the deceased until day of the funeral
  • Oak veneer coffin with white lining suitable for burial or cremation.
  • Arranging clergy or celebrant, crematorium or burial authority, as chosen by you.
  • Funeral director Hearse and four pallbearers, meeting at the church or crematorium within a 20mile radius of our office.
  • Online notice for donations.
  • Arranging music at crematorium as chosen by you.
  • Return of cremated remains to our office in a crematorium container ready for collection by the person arranging the funeral.
  • If burial is chosen a marker cross with name plate will be placed on the grave.

The Traditonal funeral service costs £2,007.00 plus disbursements, see below:

Bespoke funeral

  • Professional services including personnel attention to all necessary arrangements at a meeting in our office or the comfort of your home
  • Advice on registration and coroner procedures.
  • Liaising with hospital, doctor or coroner
  • Collection of deceased within a 20mile radius of our office during normal working hours Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, should it be necessary outside of these times it will incur an additional cost of £200.00.
  • Care of the deceased until day of the funeral
  • Attending chapel of rest
  • Arranging clergy or celebrant and crematorium or burial authority as per your requests.
  • Funeral director Hearse and four pallbearers, meeting at the deceased home or another address, travelling onto crematorium or church within a 20mile radius of our office.
  • Online notice for donations.
  • Arranging your choice of music at crematorium.
  • Advice on service sheets
  • Advice on placing press notices
  • Return of cremated remains to our office in crematorium container or transfer into a Casket, Urn or Scatter tube as chosen, awaiting instructions for laying to rest
  • If burial is chosen a marker cross with name plate will be placed on the grave. Arranging for removal of existing memorial, if required.
  • Visiting chapel of rest

STANDARDISED PRICE LIST

All funeral directors are legally required to publish this Price List for a standardised set of products and services. This is to help you think through your options and make choices, and to let you compare prices between different funeral directors (because prices can vary).

ATTENDED FUNERAL (funeral director’s charges only) £2007
This is a funeral where family and friends have a ceremony, event or service for the deceased person at the same time as they attend their burial or cremation.

ADDITIONAL FUNERAL DIRECTOR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

This funeral director may be able to supply a range of optional, additional products and services, or to arrange (on your behalf) for a third party to supply them.

The funeral director can give you a full list of what they can supply. They are likely to charge for these additional products and services, so you may choose to take care of some arrangements without their involvement, or you can use a different supplier.

[1] This fee (which is sometimes called the interment fee) is the charge made for digging and closing a new grave, or for reopening and closing an existing grave.

[2] In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, you will usually need to pay doctors’ fees as well. This is the charge for two doctors to sign the Medical Certificates for Cremation.
